Our Story

I graduated from Lindsay High School in 1970, then graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1973. At that time I married Becky and we have now been married almost 46 years. Becky and I moved to Colorado where I received a Master’s Degree in 1975. We moved back to Oklahoma City at that time where we have continued to live in the Oklahoma City Metro area for the last 44 years.

I started in the real estate business in 1982 working in the real estate development and syndication business. I was involved with multi-family properties, single family properties, mini-storages and office buildings. With the projects I was involved with I found that my biggest pleasure was working with families to help them get into their first home. I left my prior company to form First United Realty in 1991 and I have been the Broker/Owner since that time.

I immediately started working with Buyers from the start because that is the side of the business that gets me excited. To me, there is no greater feeling than helping people find the special home they’re looking for. Owning your own home starts most people and their families on the path to financial stability as well as a strong foundation for their family. I love being a part of that.

My daughter Jennifer, and son Ryan, have both worked with me for over 10 years now and Becky still helps us out with special projects.

Another part of the pie now is the fact that Jennifer and Ryan have given us 5 wonderful grandchildren, ranging in age from 7 up to 16. I can’t imagine what our life would be like without them.

Back to Real Estate!

I work with a lot of First Time Buyers, and I have helped more than 1,500 Buyers purchase their home. About 50% of the Buyers I work with are First Time Buyers, 30% are people I help find a larger home after their family has outgrown their current home and the remaining 20% are people who find that it’s time to downsize after their children have grown and married.

Throughout the years I have found that some people need a little help getting into a home, maybe because they haven’t been able to accumulate enough money for their down payment or because they have stumbled along the way with some credit issues.

I have learned that in addition to helping people find that special home they’re looking for, one of the other important things I can do is to help them by introducing them to Special Financing Options that are available. I always like to keep informed about those options because I never know what the special financing needs may be for the next Buyer that I meet. I work with a lot of Veterans on VA loans, Native American Loans for people who hold a Tribal Card, Down Payment Assistance Grants for those who may be a little short of the funds they need to complete their purchase, USDA (rural development) home loans, Reverse Mortgage Purchase Loans for “Seniors” over the age of 62, etc.

And, I always enjoy talking to people about their interest in real estate, answering any questions that they may have and providing a little special guidance for those who just need a little bit of help with the Home-Buying Process.

Many of my Buyers come as referrals from the past Buyers that I have worked with, as well as repeat Buyers. I actually have one Buyer that I have helped her purchase 5 homes. In addition, I have helped the grown children of many of my Buyers get into their first home.

We offer a proven system I call the 7 Key Steps to Home Ownership which helps make the home-buying process as smooth and stress free as possible. I’m also still using the No Down Buying System that I put together almost 15 years ago.

If there is ever anything that I can do to help you, or someone you know, with your real estate needs, just give me a call/text anytime at 405-210-5319.

I appreciate you taking the time to listen to me!
